Recently sold my property with Donald Ross and couldn't recommend them highly enough. The team made the process straightforward and stress-free, owing to their excellent communication and service throughout while the price achieved was above my initial expectations. They were always on hand whenever I had a question and the fact they operate 7 days was really helpful, both for answering any questions but also for communicating with potential purchasers over the weekend.

Horrible experience when renting, left house in great condition and they still continued to take the deposit. Money grabbing to say the least, staff behind the reception desk were heard when I was in blatantly bad mouthing tennants. Very unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. If i could score less than 1 star then i would.

The agency used to charge illegal referencing fees of 65 per person. I was renting with them between 2016 and 2018 and I remember when I first called them to do a viewing they told us "Btw we charge for referencing but that money doesn't go to us, it goes to the referencing company". I call bullsh*t as they must have taken commission from each reference. My friend who also rented with them told me they pressured them into paying by saying it was "landlord's preference" that they use paid referencing service or they may not get their property.
If you've ever been charged by them you can claim that money back by contacting them or taking the case to the first tier tribunal - you have 5 years to claim that money back apparently. Other than that the service was ok.

After 5 months of not selling selling house, they want a 500 cancelling fee for NOT selling your home, this is after already paying them hundreds of pounds in marketing fees. Then block your own property on Rightmove to stop you from switching to a different agent. They then re-list the property that you have purchased from them as a new listing trying to sell to someone else. NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS COMPANY!

In 2016 (or maybe even before that) Donald Ross were charging illegal fees of 65 per person for referencing for all their rented properties. If youve paid that, then you can claim it back as they had no right to charge you to begin with. Write a letter/email to them, and if they dont respond, you can take them straight to the first tier tribunal. Other than that, decent service.

I bought my first property from Donald Ross in 2014 and when looking to sell I knew no other estate agent would match their level of professionalism. James who valued my property was approachable and extremely knowledgeable. He took first class photographs and nothing was too much trouble. This was the first time I'd ever sold a property and both James and Nicola put me at ease and kept me well informed throughout.

I could not recommend Donald Ross Letting enough. I use the rent on time service and as a landlord this gives me piece of mind that I will receive my rent on time every month. This is essential for me as I am out of the country. All of the Donald Ross staff in both the Ayr and Kilmarnock office are excellent and very friendly. Jacqui Passant in the Kilmarnock office has been so helpful and very professional over the past few months. Great Customer service is clearly an area they focus on and I would highly recommend them.
