I had a move in less than 12 hours later and I had messaged Dominic 2/3 days ago but he was not replying so I was left with no option to call him around 12pm on Monday. When I called him he told me not to contact him and that I am being pushy and I can't have things on my term. I had previously explained to him that there are 3 refugee children living with us and I need to organise everything before and only 12 hours left, I was not even sure if I was even moving into the property or not as the Landlord was not bothering for 3 days to click on the electronic tenancy agreement and sign it.
When Dominic became rude to me I got upset and called the office to speak to a Manager and there was someone called Darren. Instead of apologising for Dominic's rudeness, he accused me of being a bad character which made me even more upset and this is less than 12 hours for my move in. I had already signed the tenancy agreement, had passed all references and had paid the deposit and rent.
I was then told by Darren that I was get my full refund within 24 hours, few minutes later Dominic messaged me and said that they will charge me around 600 administration charges and that made me even more worried and upset so I called Darren at the office to explain and he then said not to worry and I will get my full refund within 24 hours. Dominic also messaged me at 13:22 hours that I will get my full refund within 24 hours.
Our social worker from Lambeth council called the same day and spoke to Darren if there was a possibility to rent us the property but he refused and she was advised that I should receive my refund within 24 hours. I messaged and emailed both Darren and Dominic after 24 hours passing regarding my refund but they both ignored my message and emails and again there was no apology.
Our social worker tried to call them after 24 hours to ask why the refund has not been issued as yet and she was told by Darren that he can not now give a time frame and by the end of the week I should receive my refund but only few hours later I received a letter from Darren threatening me with court action for leaving a 1 star review on google maps and the letter also said that they will keep my deposit and rent of the property until the court decides regarding my 1 star google review.
I WILL BE PRESSING FOR INTEREST CHARGES FOR NOT REFUNDING MY MONEY AS GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE MY RIGHT! WE LIVE IN A FREE COUNTRY. Please avoid this estate agency! They are very sweet at the beginning but when they take your money, they then show their true colours! AVOID AT ALL COST! Now I get another accusation, if other people want to leave a review for this agency, that has nothing to do with me. Its everyone's personal choice. I can not tell others on what to do and what not to do. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

So far I have had a great experience with these guys! Dominic and Darren were communicative, efficient, and very kind. They explained everything to me perfectly and just had a fantastic level of service. They followed up with me and really guided me through my first lettings experience. Many thanks to them!

Dealt with a lot of agencies in the past but have to say I've had the most positive experience with these guys. Just rented an apartment from them with my partner after being referred by a friend and we were most impressed by there level of professionalism (not to mention low agency/referencing fees)! Highly recommended!

I came to this company as a first year university student, looking to rent in London for the first time with five other people. We were all reassured time and time again that the contract had a 'Six month get out clause'- that we were bound to the flat for six months and after could give one months notice to leave as most of us could not afford to stay 12 months in the flat.
We were assured in person at the viewing, over the phone and also in the office as we signed the papers. I know for a fact the contract that I signed (that my Dad read over) mentioned this 'get out clause' as I remember pointing to it and confirming it with the agent. However, the contract that was handed back to me, that I left First Choice Estate Agents with had no mention of the get out clause.
We were flat out lied to, tied to the contract for 12 months. after confronting the company it was waved off as a 'misunderstanding' and there were many excuses given. After all the facts were laid out, they admitted "It seemed like there had been a mistake". and even had the Audacity to ask me to change my google review as I had left them one star with no explanation, so I thought I would expand on the situation in a very clear way.
There was no mistake, they just took complete advantage of students. Luckily for our case we have an understanding landlord and were able to come to an agreement. Although in another case someone could be tied into something they couldn't afford so I'm posting this review in hope nobody else falls into the same trap.
