SPS Ltd - Darlington

The firm was founded in 1916 by Charles Stanley Hays, who was known as ??CS??. In 1924 CS moved to Lytham St Anne's. He opened an office there and commuted by train to Heckmondwike twice every week to address his business in Yorkshire. Before retiring he had been in partnership for many years with Norman Dawson. Norman carried on as a sole practitioner until 1955 when Eric Orbaum joined the firm. After Norman retired Eric was joined in partnership by his brother Sidney.
